To rid the world of Osama bin Laden, Anwar al-Awlaki and Moammar Qaddafi within six months: if Obama were a Republican, he'd be on Mount Rushmore by now. http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2011/10/a-tale-of-two-presidents.html

|
Other then being able to pat himself on the back, killing those guys doesn't do shit for the average American.

Save your agita for when Obama actually does something you can complain about. He didn't do this, so...

16. +1000. I wish I could see that poster say that to the faces of |
|
the families and friends of the victims of the terrorist acts / atrocities masterminded by these men.
But hey, if it doesn't help "the average American", who really cares?

4. How about NOTHING on "Mount Rushmore," since it is in fact a sacred site stolen from First Americans |
|
And since each of the faces currently on the monument is the face of someone who stole from, betrayed, lied to, or otherwise damaged First Americans, their land, their sovereignty, and/or their human rights.
The best possible thing that could happen to that abomination would be to hand it back to the Sioux with profound apologies and allow them to do whatever they want with it.
Not to perpetuate the outrage further.

12. The man is simply a BEAST when it comes to foreign policy |
|
He may get beaten up for his economic stances (and I'm not sure that he shouldn't) but his foreign policy successes are simply unreal.

Obama only belongs at Mt. Rushmore as a tourist. The rebels rid the world of Qadaffi, not Obama.

19. Obama did not rid the world of Qaddafi. The Libyan people did with the help |
|
of NATO. And if the Arab Spring uprisings, which Obama did not start, had not happened and inspired the people of Libya to revolt then Qaddafi would still be alive and in power today. Yes, the USA was a part of the coalition that helped the people overthrow Qaddafi. But Sarkosy and Cameron were more at the forefront getting NATO involved.

21. The NATO mission would have failed without the U.S. military's technological expertise. |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-20-11 11:49 PM by ClarkUSA
Ever wonder why EU nations can afford to national healthcare? It's because Americans underwrite a huge chunk of their defense costs and supply technological expertise and tech hardware our NATO allies lack.
So, yes, in a very real way, President Obama committed action to ridding the world of Gaddafi. Of course, he did not pull the trigger and gave ample credit to both his NATO allies and the Libyan people today in his public WH statement.
