The rise of Newt - now #3 at 12%. Cain leads, Romney falling, Perry at 10% --- FOX NEWS
Edited on Wed Oct-26-11 05:51 PM by underpants
A Fox News poll released Wednesday shows support for Cain has quadrupled among GOP primary voters since late August. At that time, he stood at 6 percent. After three September debates, he jumped to 17 percent. And now Cain leads the pack at 24 percent.

While it’s the first time Romney has trailed Cain, it’s the second time he’s been ousted from the lead since July. Romney receives 20 percent -- a new low for him. That’s down from 23 percent last month and a high of 26 percent in early August.

Newt Gingrich now comes in third with 12 percent -- edging out Rick Perry. The former speaker -- like Cain -- has seen his support quadruple since late August.

Perry’s support has dropped to 10 percent, down from 19 percent in September. After his mid-August announcement, Perry captured 29 percent of the vote and took the front-runner role from Romney.

At 9 percent, Ron Paul stays in the top five.

4. Lord help us if this far-right ideologue becomes the president
Out of Romney, Perry, Cain, and Gingrich, he scares me the most.

5. Newt is evil but he's smart and he would hold his own against President Obama in the debates.
Newt does have a lot of sleaze in his background, but being the type of guy that Obama is, I doubt if the president would try to exploit that. And Newt eliminates the "Mormon problem."

I think that Newt's lack of charisma will hurt him however. If he can figure out how to keep people from going to sleep during his speeches, it might help, but I doubt if he will.

9. I thought that Newt had a decent shot right up until he officially declared and completely imploded
Newt Gingrich's only major flaw, in terms of the primaries, is that he's Newt Gingrich. Unfortunately it's a major one.

He is unelectable in the general, though. His favorables are in Palin territory.

13. Thrice-married Gingrich has no chance in Hell.
He'd be beaten by his own party's religious idealogues who don't like him.

Newt has made more than one enemy in his own party over the years.

16. Bucket Of Stink just rocketed to the top of Republican polls.
"We like Stink better than all the other candidates" said Farley J. Fonebone, a Republican voter from Iowa, "I know Stink entered the race a little late, but he's what we want in the White House, a big Stink!"

26. Teh Newtie (R) has impeccable credentials as a Chickenhawk
Edited on Mon Oct-31-11 12:27 PM by SpiralHawk
...and as RepubliCon voters have demonstrated repeatedly over the years, they demand a Chickenhawk to be their so-called 'leader.'

So that HQS (Hypocritical Quisling Stance) qualifies Newtie as a frontrunner among the RepubliCons.

Rush DraftDodger Limbaugh (R - Propagandist) is sure to endorse his chickenhawk multiple-marriage doppelganger. They obviously share the same so-called 'values.'

17. Cain, Mitt, & Newt - a menagerie a trois
Of the three, Romney seems to be the sane one, even though he's a liar, fraud, flip-flopper, and elitist. But this year more than ever, the Repubs aren't looking for sanity in their candidate.

someone off the radar will swoop in a snatch the top spot
that way we will have less time to uncover the dirt and it can be sooo exciting
these guys are just keeping things going so it looks like the repugs are doing something

24. No chance
Edited on Mon Oct-31-11 11:34 AM by Johnny2X2X
Perry and Cain have zero chance of beating Obama. Romney has a slim chance. What a weak weak field. This is the best the Republicans have?

Just remember people, Obama is a front runner and will be very hard to beat in 2012.

, because Newt brings nothing to the talk but negative rhetoric about the President. Not that Newt has ever done anything himself worth calling Presidential.
