Fox poll says Fox News is failing: Most Americans not scared of Obama's reelection

Fox poll says Fox News is failing: Most Americans not scared of Obama's reelection

by Kaili Joy Gray

<...>

Via Talking Points Memo, Fox "News" is clearly flailing on the job:

Twenty-nine percent of those polled by Fox said they would be “scared” if Obama were re-elected, 21 said the same about Texas Gov. Rick Perry, 18 for businessman Herman Cain and 14 for former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney.

But not everyone is so afraid. A combined 37 percent said they would be “enthusiastic” and “pleased” if the president were to get a second term, while Romney only saw 21 percent in that group, Cain 23 and Perry 17.

Ever since, oh, say, January 2009, Fox has devoted itself to non-stop fear-mongering about evil, scary Kenyan socialist Marxist communist arugula-eating Obama. And yet for all that fear-mongering, even Fox couldn't round up that many dumb people (a.k.a. Fox viewers) to endorse the Fox propaganda that it will be the end of life as we know it if the president is reelected.

And there are other fun facts in the Fox poll. Like how 48 percent of respondents have a favorable view of the president, which is higher than the favorable view of any of the Republican presidential candidates. Or how only six percent of Republican primary voters say that "social issues, such as abortion and gay marriage" are the most important factors in deciding whom to support in the primaries. Turns out even the overwhelming majority of Republican voters are more concerned about the economy than banning homosexuality or birth control. Who'd have thunk it?

1. Hmm...Gray omitted "Muslim" from the Obama description. How could an anti-Fox article omit that one?

7. It's hard to get them all in
I mean Obama is a Radical Christian, Socialist, Communist, Fascist, White Hating, America Hating, Kenyan Born, radical Jihadist Muslim.

That's a lot to get in.

Oh and he's trying to kill Glenn Beck

2. Well...
I think the BS coming from faux news simply can't change the fact that the republicans running for the nomination this year are a bunch of clowns. Anyone who listens to the debates, and who is not a tea party nut, would be able to see just how unfit these people are to be the president of the U.S.! I also think that the job republicans have been doing, or should I say NOT doing, since taking over the house, and many state governments, has also show what the true republican agenda really is, breaking unions, killing jobs, deregulating everything, and turning the whole country over to the rich by privatizing just about everything the government is supposed to do!

Even fox can't change just how insane the republican party has become!

4. Faulty questions aside, I actually felt a bit better after reading through that Poll.
Only 3% would like to see Santorum or Bachmann as the Republican Presidential nominee. That gives me a bit of hope. This question was available only to people who indicated that they were voting in the Republican primary.

Another interesting response:
Do you think illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States since they were children should be eligible for legal citizenship, or not?
Yes 63% No 31 (Don’t know) 6

The favorability rating for President Obama was 48% which was higher than EVERY Republican candidate included in the poll and 4% higher than the October rating last year.

Michelle Obama's favorable rating was 62%.

12. Pretty much the metric of most of the conservative voters

Hence the HUGE push from them now. Their last ( albeit big ) dying gasp. Their largest demographic of bitter curmudgeons effectively neutered, all they'll have left is the biblically named MBA punk scions of fundie yuppies left...and the prevailing spirit of the age is slowly but surely making them less relevant as well.

9. You're right.
I know all sorts of people. Not many are crazy about President Obama but they are certainly smart enough to know the Republican party is for big business and doesn't give a damn about working people.

14. Frontrunner
Obama is the front runner right now and he will be re reelected. The righties I know personally and the ones I read on the web are all acting like it's a forgone conclusion that Obama will lose and the GOP will have huge gains in both houses of Congress. They watch FOX. The Dems will be picking up seats in the House no matter what happens, this is an accepted fact for anyone. The Dems will hold the Senate no matter what too. And Obama is favored to win reelection. These are all what is expected to happen right now, you wouldn't know it by listening to the Right.

The OWS are the Wild Card for the election as we could see a huge victory not only for Dems, but for Liberal Dems.
