Mediate screen grab and Cornell West's furry at Ron Christie may have me welcoming him back. . .
. . .into the fold.

I swear I thought he was going to either choke him or strangle him if Michael Ware hadn't been there. It was good TV.

Michael Ware Tries To Contain Cornel West’s Rage At Former Cheney Aide On Bill Maher Panel

-snip-

The conversation on Occupy Wall Street began as Maher read an excerpt from a column Christie wrote attacking the protesters, one in which Maher thought Christie came off as “resentful that this is a 40-year-old party you were having you were never invited to.” He also attacked Christie for claiming that the President had spent too much time campaigning instead of being in the White House. Christie replied that if the President “wants the dignity of his office,” he has to “be in his office.” This began the first of many waves of vocal discontent from West, Michael Ware, and Michelle Goldberg, the first of which began to shout that the President “was dealing with right-wing Republican entrenchment and obstructionism.”

Maher then went on to the 2012 campaign and noted that Republicans often call Newt Gingrich one of their “big thinkers,” which sent West and Ware into a laughing fit. To prove that Gingrich was not that much of an “ideas” guy, Maher pointed out similarities between what Gingrich said and what Charlie Sheen began to say during his implosion earlier in the year. Gingrich, Maher concluded, “uses the words ‘profound’ and ‘fundamental’ in every sentence, and people say ‘wow, he’s such a big thinker!’”

“You want big ideas? Go to Occupy Wall Street,” West interjected. Christie, naturally, seemed to disagree with this claim, arguing that the movement was creating “an American where we pit Americans against each other by class,” something Goldberg vehemently argued already exists. “When Herman Cain says, ‘if you don’t have a job, that’s your fault,’ that’s class warfare.” When Christie called what Occupy Wall Street was doing “demonizing because of their success,” another wave of uproar erupted, in which West argued the goal was “corporate accountability,” not demonization.

That last bit sounded like a “beautiful soundbite” to Christie, and his opinion incensed West so much as to apparently need several physical restraints from Ware. “People don’t go to jail for soundbites!” West started shouting, as Ware in turn gave him back massages and hugs (?). Maher brought the panel to earth, making a warm point about America being the sort of place where these shoutfests could happen without anyone getting arrested or hurt, and a place where “the two black men on the panel are the ones who hate Obama,” a line that brought peace, finally, between West and Christie.

1. I don't know how anybody could be on a panel with that mealy mouthed douchebag
without thinking seriously about rearranging his facial features.

I understand there was a certain amount of theater involved in this episode but I was rooting for West to jump over the desk and put a fist into the crosseyed little candy ass's face.

8. I have no idea how they contained themselves. I watched the show and I am convinced I would have hit
him right in the mouth. At the beginning of the show he refused to look at Michael Ware. His condescending speech pattern alone makes you want to hit him, then when you listen to the garbage coming out of his mouth it adds to the urge to throttle him.

10. sad part if you do throttle him
he'd cry victim, and the media hysterics and sanctimonious scumbags would start to pin blame on the person doing what should have been done to this bag of puke years ago.The fake outrage and tsk tsking from faux and other media people disconnected from reality would just make me sick.

11. Watching the vid now. Damn, he's really lost his hair, hasn't he?
And I have to wonder how he gets his voice like that. I have never heard a black man with so little bass and resonance in his voice. His voice makes me want to tear off my flesh with my own teeth.

No idea who Michael Ware and the woman are. Maher is not that funny. Cornel pissed me off slightly less than usual while making some good points but his showboating works my last damn nerve.

I just checked his bio. Haven't watched CNN in years. No wonder I'd never heard of him.

15. I love Michael Ware and Cornell West
It's easy to forget how utterly AWESOME Michael Ware was when he was based in Baghdad during the dark days of the Iraq War. I watched CNN just to see his reports.
