New Wisconsin Poll: Obama approval rating 54% beats GOP field by 11 or more points/Walker recall #
The Prez is doing pretty well in this poll of WI by the WI Policy Research Center:

• 54 percent approve of President Barack Obama's performance and 42 percent disapprove. That's more support for Obama than in much of the rest of the country.

• In head-to-head contests with three Republican challengers - Mitt Romney, Ricky Perry and Herman Cain - Obama is 11 percentage points ahead of Romney, his closest rival in Wisconsin. If the matchup were between those two candidates, Obama would get 46 percent of votes to Romney's 35 percent, the poll said.

Regarding Governor Scott Walker:
A majority of Wisconsin residents don't like the way Gov. Scott Walker is doing his job, but the state is split on whether to recall him, according to a new poll.

Some 56 percent of those polled disapprove of Walker's performance. But only 47 percent want to recall him, compared to 49 percent who don't - a statistical tie. The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

1. So Wisconsin doesn't like Walker, but they'll keep him
What a lame-ass smokescreen attempt to keep that POS in office.

Meanwhile let the signatures do the talking!

3. It may not be about him--a lot of people are opposed to the idea of recall
I know I am, in general. I'm FOR impeachment if there is an impeachable offense. But ever since the awful ousting of Gray Davis from office, I'm pretty much opposed to the idea of recalling elected officials because people suddenly decide they don't like them. It makes elections meaningless, and can lead to public whim.

You can't think about this only in terms of Walker--who is awful. But people elected this awful guy. Maybe they'll be more careful next time if they realize that elections actually have consequences. But it could be one of the "good" guys next: a Democratic governor we like. So I can understand people disapproving of Walker but being reticent to resort to recall, on principle.
