Please think about the past and how the Democrats have voted and compromised

on huge, life altering legislation affecting the working class and the middle class.

History is the best teacher. If we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it.

1. "No Child Left Behind" (Kennedy stood by Bush as he signed this legislation). Hugely bad, very little good.

2. "NAFTA" (brought to us by Clinton which has ended up being more bad than good).

3. "Clinton Welfare Reform" (need I add anything here)? Bad bad poor people, bad bad people out of work, we'll fix THEM!

4. "Iraq War Resolution" (Dem's fell into line behind Bush).

5. Hey, how about that fab Prescription Drug Medicare part D....big winner for big Pharma. Seniors with no help on which plan to
select often select the wrong one...but that's the point isn't in? Confuse old people into costly plans.

6. Lets not forget CAFTA....whew we are sure reaping the big buck benefits of that one...NOT

I have lost hope. I have become quiet. I am feeling very sad and discouraged. 50 years have passes since the Great Society legislation and LBJ was the president.

When the dust settles on this HCR fight, we will have a bill and a program that is weak and complicated and many will not benefit.

2. Thanks, I am so discouraged that I can't type straight. I wish I didn't understand how
we have been sold down the river so many times in the past 20 years....I can not look the other way and pretend that this HCR fight will turn out well.

Where the heck is LBJ when you need him???

Leave the party and join a left wing party like the Greens or Socialists.

Trying to bring everyone else down when the fight is hard is real productive. :sarcasm:

Some people keep fighting. The 80s led the country into a very right wing direction. When the Iraq War started, the country was very :scared: of terra and fell in line behind Bush at every opportunity.

4. Yes, thanks for reminding me. I have a question. Does this bill
provide funding to the states to administer or will this be another unfunded mandate like No Child?
