1. LOL. n/t

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

8. Ditto. I look forward to all of the "Obama sucks" naysayers on DU
coming back into the flock. And I won't have to wait until even the 2010 elections to see it happen. The HCR ACT that passes is going to be a HUGE win for the Ds.

The only question will be how many DUers will deny that they were part of the "Ds are all sell outs" crowd.

64. Dishonest much? You are well aware that the term "ditto" as shorthand for "what you said" long
predates that obnoxious ranter Limbaugh.

Such rank dishonesty and attempts to paint someone as a fan of a RW asshat without the slightest shred of posted evidence and solely because you disagree with a position the poster has taken makes decent people want to :puke: indeed.

Last couple of elections we had a bunch of assholes running around screwing things up preaching and throwing pizza parties instead of manning the phone banks, GOTV, yard signs, and the rest of the stuff. Good riddance.

(Those were the assholes who left their keyboards for a while-- the ones who stayed home were screwing up internet boards with their bullshit.)

We're seeing with HCR how important that is, and how important it is to push Obama from the left. If we had a few more progressives in the Senate, that's so much less power wielded by Nelson, Landrieu, Baucus, etc.

is one of them and I will not support another neocon. It would be like voting for Lieberman as a Democrat or equally wrong...an Independant...wtf

This is exactly why we are in this mess today. We did this to ourselves because we voted for a party and not for a person. A large percentage of Republicans realize this now as evident by their large decrease in support. Now that the Democratic party has also been overrun with neocons, I see no alternative but to vote against both parties unless either candidate has a clear voting record against such policies that have taken our prosperity and wealth. The obvious use of the same tactics to infiltrate the Democratic party is evident by this post with it's message of party line support even if it's bad for America. What's the alternative, I don't have that answer. At least my conscience will not eat me away as millions remain jobless and homeless and as more innocent woman and children die under the false guise of a war on terrorism. The real war has been happening for decades. It's against ordinary Americans and we are very close to defeat. I will never surrender, especially with the ideology that a vote for anyone else is a vote for them...since they...are them.

31. No. I'll direct my limited funds to the election of honest progressives.
The president has shown himself to be neither.

I live in PA which is a "battleground" state, but the way I feel right now, I would not lift a finger for him, other than a (possible) reluctant vote to re-elect if there is no alternative, third party candidate on the ballot.

This would be my first ever non-Dem vote for president.

76. DU is a self-described "left-wing" message board.
There is a requirement that DUers not use the board to campaign for non-Democrats, and of course, I didn't do that. I said I didn't donate or campaign for Obama. I was clear about that throughout both the primaries and the GE. The Democratic Party is often in direct conflict with the left, and DU is not affiliated with the Democratic Party.

As you know. When did someone appoint you to be DU's gatekeeper?

77. I have no idea who I'm going to vote for in '12.
There are no announced candidates, and no campaign.

I won't be voting for the "Green" or "Socialist" candidate. I don't vote for a party, but for the best candidate.

Should that candidate not be a Democrat, I won't be discussing my vote at DU. That would be against the rules.

Just to be clear: not donating to, or campaigning for, the Democrat does not equal a vote for someone else.

Too stupid and/or dishonest to see, or acknowledge, that opposing a bad Democrat is not the same thing as supporting a bad Republican.

Too stupid or dishonest to bring substance into a discussion of disagreement.

101. Yes, to match the opposition I'll have to be aggressively obnoxious in my optimisim.
Sickeningly so!

I only volunteer for politicians I believe in 100%, and I did not have that confidence in candidate Obama. I have put in many hours for progressive local candidates.

The only decision he's made that I've been unhappy with is Afghanistan. And it's not like I didn't know his views on that ahead of time - I was just hoping he'd change his mind.

Sigh. Yes, that idiot is my Senator.

Also, any efforts don't have to be for Obama but can be against his future opponent. Anyone stupid enough to not realize the difference is naive.

95. I will support whoever the nominee is in 2002. I assume that will be Obama
as primary challengers tend to whip up a frenzy but not actually win the nomination, at least in modern times.

I'm a progressive, and I have criticisms of the current administration. But I am going to continue to support the Democratic Party and work on expressing my views from within the party.

That is of course if someone like Howard Dean steps forward. But failing that, I will probably have to reluctantly vote for Obama in the general.

117. Not me...
and as unhappy as I am with his performance, that decision was made before he even won the last election.

I worked on the Obama campaign in 2008 post-primary and swore off 2010, 2012, 2014 to work exclusively on issues-campaigns because I predicted that with a Democrat in the WH and a Democrat making court appointments that there would be a lot of issues-campaigns needing my help more than any national race...the only race I'm getting involved with is the one to take out Joe Lieberman because that's personal for me and has been since before Gore chose him for a running mate. I want that man's political tombstone carved already...I've been waiting for it too long already.

Admittedly, nothing Barack Obama has done in his year in office has given me much reason to second-think this decision.
