Few people realize that not only does the president travel in his own limousine, but wherever there will be a need for the president to travel in public, either in the United States or on foreign soil, The Beast is there, too. The limo is the central element of what is called "the secure package," or a group of critical vehicles—carrying the president, special communication equipment, heavily armed agents—meant to break off from the motorcade in the event of a credible threat or actual attack.
