I personally know right-wingers who have become liberals because they gradually heard FACTS that were presented to them by liberals. They were not converted overnight in one swell foop, but over years they heard things that did not fit with the narrative they had been presented by the Limbaughs and Foxes of the world. Then, one day, they realized that they were being conned. Now they view the world differently--from a liberal perspective.

Your concept of quarantining ourselves from Fox News and other conservative news/propaganda outlets is simply small-minded and scary as hell. I am actually a BIG proponent of Democrats/Liberals/Progressives going on conservative media to engage the audience and to try to change the views of those watching. But that is a long term process, if one thinks that this will be effective in getting the Republican party to change their stance on a bill in the short term? No way. Its not going to happen.
