Politico: Party switcher Dem Parker Griffith Donated to Dean's Presidential Campaign.
(Guess his switching to the Republican party is just naked ambition--in his 61% McCain district.)
Griffith donated to Dean's presidential campaign

In his announcement on switching parties to become a Republican, Rep. Parker Griffith touted his long-standing conservative bona fides, saying he had to become a Republican to stand up for his core beliefs.

But just five years ago, Griffith donated $1,500 to the presidential campaign of liberal icon Howard Dean — with one donation coming when Dean’s campaign was already faltering in February 2004.

(Griffith also gave $1,000 to Sen. Harry Reid in December 2003 — something his conservative detractors will be sure to point out.)

Granted, Griffith is a radiation oncologist and may have been trying to elect a doctor to the White House. But for a congressman who claims his core principles and values are so conservative he couldn’t remain in the Democratic Party, giving money to Howard Dean isn’t a logical move.

5. Screw him
Maybe there's a long shot that a slightly less repulsive conservaDem could slide in and win the district since it's so historically Democratic (or at least DINO)... but I wouldn't bet on it, considering what the political climate is likely to look like 10 1/2 months from today- especially in northern Alabama. But screw this ship-jumping rat; I hope one of his newfound Repug buddies slaughters him in the primaries.

6. They very well might
There are runoffs in Alabama, I assume the hard right won't like him since keeps talking about bipartisanship.

A Texas Dem switched in 1995 and he lost to Ron Paul in the 1996 primary.
