1. Seniors
will flock back to republicans after the Medicare cuts become clear and the unions will be on the sidelines, so where do your votes come from?

13. This senior knows where her bread is buttered and it isn't
on the Republican side of the aisle...if it had been left to them, there wouldn't even BE a Medicare, and the cuts I see coming are in the donut hole and in the Medicare Advantage which is a big farce.

15. This senior agrees with you
Jumping from voting for a democrat to voting for a repug doesn't make sense. If repugs would have voted for a decent bill we could have had a great bill. Being the party of NO, and with no bill per say, why would anyone want to vote for them. I will say next time a run off between ben nelson and another demo happens he just might lose his seat.

19. So how much was you Medicare cut under
Bush and the republicans? I seem to recall they gave you prescription drugs. And obama leaves the donut hole so I am not sure what kind of bread you eat.

20. The donut hole is closing a lot under this bill so far.
The prescription drug bill under the pugs was for pharma. They made it illegal to buy from Canada which seniors near the border could get much cheaper, in fact they confiscated drugs seniors were bringing back if they were caught at it. Prescription coverage is going up this year for us, and I would venture to guess it will go up every year until congress puts a stop to that little trick. Yup, we sure have gotten a lot out of republicans. Bite yer tongue!

27. Why do you continue the "cuts to Medicare" RNC talking point? You were
called out on this yesterday, yet here you are today spouting off again about the so-called cuts to Medicare.

Listen. Medicare ADVANTAGE is wholly run by the insurers, but these insurers charge the government (that's you & me, Hon) 14% more than what traditional Medicare costs to run. That 14% is pure gravy and was a HUGE 'effin gift to the for-profit insurers. That's a huge chunk of taxpayer change that pads the bottom lines HMOs.

So, explain to me why you believe that we should continue to throw our tax $$$$ hand over fist into these "welfare queen's" coffers when all that money can go into true Medicare.

2. I agree....and those who say it, want us to repeat it and believe it
as a self fullfiling prophecy type of situation.

I'll be damned if I start talking in a way that helps us lose,
cause that ain't gonna help the American people.
If Republicans, who have proven are the party of Hell No,
gain control once again, then you can hang this country up;
cause there will be not even an inkling of hope left to argue over.

Happy Holidays to you! :hi:

3. WHY?
The economy is bad and it will get worse, the taxes from this bill will kick in next year with the benefits starting in 2013. If anything this made it worse.

9. That's because the MSM think their talking heads and pundits are political experts.
Very few of them have the life experiences connected with Congress, politics, and campaigns. The same holds true for many here on DU.

Oh and many of those talking heads and pundits are corrupt. They rely on the same tactics that radio talk show hosts like Windbag use to get their message out. Mainly to sound believable enough that the listeners or viewers believe what they say. And difficult to challenge because if they are listening on radio they are not likely to have access to research material to check it out. They also bring out their so called experts to make them seem even more legitimate.

When they make their predictions they try to compare with another period in time even though details are usually different.

Obama's approval ratings will go back up to the mid fifties. People are frustrated, but they know he didn't create this mess.

12. This is one senior that knows better
People keep saying Medicare will get cuts. MEDICARE ADVANTAGE WILL GET THE CUTS AND THEY DESERVE TO....I have posted over and over the Advantage plans were a drain on the medicare system. It was done to give the health insurance industry to get their greedy hands on more money.

Advantage plans cost more and more and more than regular medicare for the same procedure and office visits. AND IF THEY CAN THEY STIFF THE CLINICS AND HOSPITALS. Medicare does not need these type of things and if the cut the them or made the follow the same rules as medicare they WOULD SAVE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

Thats the only cuts to medicare. Of course republicans are touting this as cuts to medicare. They are the ones who pushed this and made it profitable for all kinds of companies to dig in.

17. Yes, you understand that well and I agree with you. But you are but one senior.
Lots of other seniors will focus only on the loss of the perks they're currently getting, when the Medicare Advantage 14% overpayment is eliminated. They won't care about anything else but that. This needs to be done, I'm just saying there will be a price to pay.

The MSM will report it as a new republican revolution and that we are heading back to the right. Then one of these brain dead idiots will come up with a "New Contract For America" and get tons of coverage. Aaaah the "Liberal" media........

26. No they will not, they have proven they offer nothing more than whining and
stamping their feet, anyone who would dare to vote for the republicans are as wimpy as those that stupidly admire...

The party of do nothing?

Who would be stupid enough to think they offer anything of value when they have proven time and time again that everything they do is self serving and designed to keep themselves in the top one percent...
