Today, I stand with Bernie Sanders, Al Franken, Vicki Kennedy and others in supporting this HCR bill |
|
To those that do not, who do you stand with? Jane Hamsher, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell. And you have the gall to call the supporters of the bill sell outs?

I was pointing out that the OP used an awful rhetorical stunt to compare me with awful people.
Using the same stunt, vegetarians stand with Hitler.
I agree with Boehner's and McConnell's votes on this bill, but for totally different reasons. Exactly opposite reasons, in fact.

are terms used to describe people who, for instance, don't argue positions they know to be false and deceitful. By this form of argument, you would have to admit to being a supporter of Joe Lieberman since you agree with him that this is a good bill and stand shoulder to shoulder with him in his fight. See. Stupid is as stupid does.
Read a little more about memetics and Godwin. Manny tossed the OP's absurdity in his lap by calling him on his dishonest use of comparisons. Typical of those who know just enough to think they are bright, some here picked it up and played with it. Just goes to show that this kind of crowd barely recognizes the obvious. You were taunted and didn't even get it.

I stand with those who want to see health care moving forward. I'm just not one of those 'all-or-nothing' people. We should always continue to push for a public option and a better health care system, amongst other things, because we still have a ton of work to do. We're not there yet, but we're at least one small step closer. Just like the Democrats in the Senate left the do-nothing Republicans behind (there's nothing more disgusting than adults who behave like whiny children), I'm leaving Hamsher and her ilk behind. I guess they still want someone to hate - it doesn't seem to matter that W deserved the contempt and Obama does not. They want someone to demonize, and that makes them more like the Republicans than not.

That is the crux of the problem.
No public option or Medicare buy in, but millions of enforced customers. Huge subsidies going from taxpayers into insurance industry. No outright straightforward price controls.
Progressives got substandard "free" clinics, expansion of Medicaid (not expansion of Medicare) and a "no denial" clause that is dubious.

It's what you stand for. And what you're willing to sacrfice to stand with them. In this case, you're sacrificing an opportunity to get real HCR and instead adopting a bad and costly imitation. It's important to form your own judgments based on facts, which are easily obtainable. And not be swayed by the crowd.
