Yes we can save the Country from another great depression (this one started by Bush and his GOP buddies)
Yes we can get historic health care reform though the Senate.
YES WE CAN GET THIS NATION HEADING BACK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!

but not with Tim Geithner and Ben Bernanke in charge of the economy, and not by handling the entire medical establishment (minus Medicare and the VA) over to a handful of LEGALLY UNREGULATED monopolistic companies.

Not as fast as many would like, but who ever said it would be fast and easy?
Our President is making pretty amazing progress on many of his _campaign pledges_, even though those do not transform into legislation without a long, hard slog.
Yes. We. Can. And together, we WILL.
Thanks for being the first post I read and starting my day with hope and a smile. :pals:

16. America is making a LEFT TURN! |
|
And it's long overdue.
I want to share a story that's been on the news here locally (in Milwaukee). There's a guy who's just shy of forty years old and who had worked for the same company for more than 15 years. He lost his job in the recession and then he lost his health insurance. His wife is battling ovarian cancer and is going through chemo right now. But without health insurance -- and nobody would cover his wife's illness because it was a pre-existing condition -- the family was facing financial disaster.
So what does this father of three with a sick wife do at 39 years of age? He joined the Army. That's it. He's home on leave right now, but his only choice to get healthcare for his family was to join the military for the next three years.
Don't get me wrong. I honor the men and women who choose to serve our country, but it's just plain sick and wrong that a guy has to join the military and be away from his sick wife and family in order to pay the medical bills.
Let's get this legislation to Obama's desk, and then let's work to make it even better so that no family ever has to go through this again.

Considering where we were last December, I never thought we'd come this far, economically speaking. We've still got a ways to go, but things are definitely headed in the right direction.
Merry Christmas!
