Poll question: So if the 2012 election is between Obama and some Republican, how will you vote?

Edited because of that pesky quotation-marks-in-poll-choices thing.

1. A little premature aren't we?
But I forgot we're now living in a culture where the next election cycle begins the day after the politician takes office.

2. More than a few on DU are ready to cast him out.
If anything, this poll is late to the party.

6. Well, if he's lost the support of more than a few people DU, he must really be in trouble!

20. That's pretty much every democracy
Autocracies are, of course, a nice alternative because the politicians there are never worried about the next election.

10. you get what you deserve
What did you expect? People telling you they will vote for DeMint or Palin instead? I think stupid polls like that are assaults on our collective intelligence, as well as good will.

18. Do you feel better now that you've gotten that out of your system?
Take a few deep breaths and you'll be fine.

7. You know perfectly well we'd ALL vote for Obama against Palin.
There's no need for any passive-aggressive "loyalty test" polls.

8. I don't think there's anything passive about it.
And I've seen over a dozen separate posts in recent days in which the poster claimed "that's it--he's lost me," or some equivalent piss-line in the sand.

11. Caribou Barbie will focus our minds quite marvelously
and President Obama is counting on that as he makes his choices. Of course, he's thinking he's not going to get a challenge within his own party, like the kind that Eugene McCarthy or Teddy Kennedy mounted.

Good luck with that, Barack.

23. That's a worthy question to ask, but it wasn't the intent of this poll.
I posted immediately after reading three posts by three different DUers in three different threads, all of them saying "he's lost my vote" or something equivalent.

I thought I'd test the waters to see who else might be as eager to pull the red lever in '12.
