Finally, finally the fruits of NAFTA are coming our way...
We can now get Mexican Coke, the kind that is made with cane sugar and not fucking corn syrup.

Ever since January 1, 1994, almost 16 year have passed, my, how time flies, and after a massive shift of personal wealth transfered from American Blue Collar Workers to the Investor Class, we have Coke made with cane sugar.

Thank you William Jefferson Clinton, we finally have something sweet to placate the trauma of a disruptive trade agreement that, to this day, continues to destroy families all across the country...

4. They really need to do something about the farm subsidies...
Without government subsidies, the US farming industry wouldn't exist. And, the thing is, the food our farmers grow these days is crap. The corn the grow in Iowa? Not nearly as protein rich as it used to be. These days the vast majority of the corn they grow is 95% starch. Then, when cows get ready to be slaughtered, they force feed those cows that corn through tubes to fatten them up so much, that the cows would die anyway, even if they weren't slaughtered. Yeah, it makes beef cheaper to produce, but how nutritious do you think those steaks are that come from cows that have been force fed corn that's 90% starch to the point the cows brinkering upon death?

If we're going to have a farming industry that is dependent upon government industries, they ought to focus those subsidies so we get healthier food out of the farmers!

I'm not sure how this relates to using corn as a sugar substitute in sodas (and a LOT of other foods in America), but this thread just made me think of that....

6. Hooray.
I'm still waiting for my new NAFTA job.
I've got to be at the top of the list.
Its ONLY been 16 years,
so all the benefits for American LABOR should be kicking in any day now!!
.
.
.
Yep!...Any day now.

BTW: Do any of you see the striking parallel of the way NAFTA was sold to the American People and the way the new Health Care "Insurance" Reforms are being marketed to the American People?

8. We need to stop calling it HCR and start calling it the insurance industry bailout.
With the added info that if Goldman Sachs wants in on it, and they do, it's another sweetheart trough at the taxpayer teat deal.

(I say taxpayer because it's amazing how many people don't understand what the word "public" entails)
