I'm watching King grandstand on the Crotch Bomber issue and try to make it appear that the Obama administration is "soft on terror" and won't give "Congress the information they need".

What King forgets is that the investigation is underway and giving information to bloviators like himself only hurts the case.

We can see why any investigation team would not give him access. He's the first guy to go to the microphone (aside from that other vermin, Joe Lieberman) and do his best as Monday Morning Quarterback with the message that the sky is falling and we need to be very, very afraid.

The funny part about King and Lieberman is that both are on the Homeland Security Committee and surely had to know about this stuff before the Crotch Bomber event happened. They brag they are big boys protecting the "homeland", yet they are perhaps at least somewhat complicit on the security breach.

What the hell were they doing on the Homeland Security Committee if they aren't protecting us? :sarcasm:

1. I liked Chris Hedges' rebuttal; can't remember it word for word,
but he did point out how fruitless spreading panic a la idiot son was.

4. "It sounds like you're criticizing the administration for not grandstanding enough"
That was the gist of it

6. King's the ranking Republican on the homeland security committee, so...
he gets the mike as the opposition every time something happens.

He's good at his job, too, because he never gets off message that anything and everything any Democrat does will cause the death and destruction of the Republic, and possibly civilization itself.

(Republicans, of course, would handle it all so much better-- just like they did for eight years.)

8. Note the different GOP responses...
...to the "crotch bomber" vs. the "shoe bomber."

When the shoe bomber tried but failed to blow up a jet liner on Chimpy's watch, it was "ain't it great our guys prevented a terrorist attack!"

When the crotch bomber tried but failed to blow up a jet liner on Obama's watch, it was "ain't it horrible your guys let a terrorist attack almost happen!"
