Popularity of the Healthcare Bill and 2010 Elections |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-28-09 08:53 AM by RBInMaine
Oh, aren't the RePUKES just worried as all hell right now. Sweating bullets. Even PRAYING for failure and for Byrd to die. ULTRAdesperate. Here's why: because healthcare WILL pass and Dems will be REWARDED for it. Poll numbers have been down on Dem healthcare for one reason: a diverse caucus that has struggled to gel on a bill. Now that is happening, flawed as it is, and it WILL pass. Dems will not allow an historic opportunity to get by them. In the meantime, the PUKES have had a much easier job because all they have had to do is lie, obstruct, and run negative ads against it because they have put ALL their little right wing stormtroopers in lockstep against ANYTHING the Dems try to do to advance the country. Their entire strategy has been: "Make the Dems look ineffectual even with their majorities. The public, especially Indys, will see them as ineffectual, and they will turn back to us." This was clearly the strategy articulated by the horrid DeMint in his "It will be Obama's Waterloo" statement about killing health reform.
Well guess what GrandOldPissheads, your shitty little strategy is crumbling under your sad, wretched little feet and you are scared shitless ! The healthcare bill WILL pass, and it is already gaining in popularity because Americans want action and not obstruction. Approval ratings for Congressional Dems are already climbing back up. Individual provisions of the bill DO poll high, and it will continue to gain as people become more familiar with it. There will also be a new jobs bill and an energy bill passed going into 2010. And the economy will be slowly gaining throughout 2010. The best theme Dems can and should use is: "We are WORKING to SOLVE PROBLEMS MADE BY THE PUKES. They are working to LIE and OBSTRUCT and do NOTHING. They are the DO NOTHING Party!"
2010 may well end with some small GOP gains, but it will be no "wave" by any means, and Dems will continue in the majority in both chambers. In fact, Dems stand a chance to pick up several former GOP seats. Americans want ACTION, not OBSTRUCTION. This is really a great opporunity for Dems.

3. 58 million will be JUST LIKE ME |

Fully insured by private, for profit insurance, UNABLE to afford medical treatment.
This bill seems to be all about profits for health insurance companies - and very little about providing medical treatment.
The only shot that this is a political gain for us is if the public blames THIS BILLS FAILURE to provide medical treatment on the health insurance industry. It is possible that Obama will be much more popular then the health insurance industry.

change my mind that this bill will be much better than you estimate; cause that's all you doing.
