Predicition: Republicans will treat health care reform the same way they treated the stimulus |

Every Republican in the House and nearly every Republican Senator voted against the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (also known as the stimulus). Although the Congressional Budget Office has credited the stimulus with creating up to 1.6 million jobs, the same GOP politicians who opposed the stimulus have attempted to justify their opposition to the policy by smearing it as a failure. But as ThinkProgress has documented, the same politicians are returning to their districts to take credit for the economic success of the stimulus. They're not exactly going to tell people they want them all to stay as poorly covered as they are. If the plan that does get passed sucks, they'll say "we told you so," and if it ends up being a step in the right direction, they'll take credit for making sure it wasn't radical, etc etc etc, and say what heroes they were all along.
Yep, our heroic Republican members of Congress, looking out for our, er, well, no, not our, well, somebody's interests anyway!
