Ambulance Rushes To Obama Compound In Hawaii
First Family Spends Christmas Vacation In President's Birthplace HONOLULU (AP)

President Obama has left a golf course in Hawaii abruptly for a "personal matter," the Associated Press reports. An ambulance is at the first family's compound.

The news comes as Obama has been hounded almost non-stop by news of a bomb plot on board a Northwest Airlines flight on Christmas Day. Before he left Washington, White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday that the president wanted to spend his holiday in his birthplace away from the news-of-the-moment distractions that have dominated his first year in office.

4. I do too. . .
A former colleague & mentor of mine is one the "Friends of Barack" who always manages to end up in the photos whenever he is enjoying his leisure time.

6. Chuck Todd just broke into Hardball about this.
He said a family friend was injured -- something to do with the ocean -- but they don't know the extend of the injury. There are lots of police, ambulance personnel around the Obama compound.

I hope the person is okay!

8. Hope the individual is OK...
I don't like to see anyone hurt.

Years ago, I went to HI on a HOP...($10...heh-heh, pays to be in the military...:D ). Anyway, did some body surfing on the North Shore of Oahu...decent sized waves, maybe 15'. Was doing fine, till I got spooked by seeing the pretty good sized rocks in what seemed to me pretty close to the surface, and right under me...:scared: When one is in a wave, your pretty well at it's mercy till you hit that nice coral beach sand...:D

11. Ah Ye-ah! That's why I only boogie
boarded or body surfed where the Ocean's floor was just sand.. only sand. Waves are so unpredictable and I did eat my sand-wich a few times but it could have been so much worseB-)

This was in California at Encinitas and Kaua'i at Poli Hale.
