Suggestion for streamlining the hiding of threads

I suggested this a few years ago, but I still think it might be quite easy to implement.

Give people the option of making their 'Hidden Threads' list visible to everyone; and then, when you're looking at someone else's list, rather than an 'Unhide selected threads' button, you have a 'Hide selected threads for me too' button. Add a 'select all' option, and, hey presto, once a fellow sufferer has gone through the hassle of hiding dozens of threads on the tedious topic du jour, everyone else can benefit from their selfless work. You could have a long running Lounge thread where people say which topic is getting on their nerves at the moment, and who's got an up-to-date list.

My only concern would be whether making members' lists of hidden threads would make them less likely to use the feature.

2. I think it should be a profile option available to people

I understand many people wouldn't want their own lists made public, and since they're not now, everyone would start off with them hidden. Only if you wanted to start making your list available as a 'public service' would you change the option (I suppose there could be an element of boasting or cliquiness in it, which might be a problem - "look at what I'm hiding, because these are threads from people I don't think much of").
