I know how to solve everything for progressives
Ha. No I don't. But, I do know what doesn't work. Washington D.C. is a place where all great ideas and ideals go to die. The one party system is the property of all forces that work against us. We almost get nothing from that body of corporately owned whores, with few exceptions, and those progressives are a dying breed.

So, I actually have no answers except that we need to find a wholly new approach to effecting the outcomes that we desire. Washington has evolved into a very hostile place for progressives (people for people).

A new way, or, well, what almost always happens in a state where the ruling class gets everything.

3. I'll take 1 rocket ship
I'll take my chances out there with the aliens- maybe they've figured out a system that doesn't involve a permanent ruling class.

4. I find it interesting that the only complaint the DLC'ers have against progressives are that they
are impatient. They will not debate issues but only try to force progressives to be happy with what they (we) get.

6. you are barking up the right tree IMHO
we can't out spend them; we can't own the airways; we can't compete on their terms. One issue that seems useful to me is to launch an intense education for Americans about taxes and their value and educate people on who pays and who benefits. so much voter self defeating happens in the arena of tax paying. people vote against their own self interest over and over due to the intense propaganda promoted regarding taxes. this is one issue among many. and sadly i am not forgetting the voting machine issue.

8. Look South, young man!
Even the PRI of Mexico couldn't maintain the one party state for more than 2 1/2 generations. Consolidation of power in ideology leads to schism of its' own accord.
