Four children, 1 adult, die in Redmond apartment fire...Near Seattle

Seattle Times staff reporters

Firefighters battled flames from a first-story unit in Redmond's Sammamish Ridge Apartments, which spread to all three floors of this apartment building. All five who died lived in the first floor unit. as heavy smoke and flames engulfed her home.

2. Looks like a bunch of fires in the last bit since it got cold....

3. Don't know the cause
of these fires but I had to use an extension cord with a small 1500 watt electric heater. I used one of those heavy duty orange cords but it got hot - the prongs were too hot to touch after using it about a half hour.
Needless to say that I went out and got a higher gage extension cord.
I wonder, in this cold weather, how many people are using compromised electrical products to keep warm. Maybe our local news programs could do some education on this.
