How many tea partiers are there?
Dumb freeper on my local paper is claiming there are more tea partiers than Democrats. I Googled and found there are about 70-75 million registered Democrats but can't find a number for tea partiers. Any idea where I can look?

15. Conservative math
It's the same math that gives more weight to the 0.001% of scientists who believe global warming doesn't exist (and receive funding from the carbon industry) than... all of the actual legitimate scientific community.

3. My guess is it hovers
around 29%. The same 29% that still support Bush when he left office.

6. I lived in a rural area of NC
There are TWO of the TeaTards within 5 miles and I know this because they are the ones with signs in their yards.

That means there are others, without signs.

9. The correct term is "teabaggers."
They hung that moniker on themselves, and were quite proud of it-- I guess they thought it was clever. At least until they finally figured out what the non-idiotic people were giggling about. Then of course they whined about being slandered and changed the name to "tea partiers" and claimed that it had always been that way. I am not going to play their bullshit games-- they came up with the name and they own it.

As for their numbers...who knows? They are all Repubs anyway, just temporarily re-branded until memories of the Bush years slip down the memory hole and they can proudly claim to be Republicans once again.

But surely you're not going to try to use facts and logic to argue with them, are you? Good luck on that-- and I mean that sincerely. Someone has to fight them. I suppose if you have the time and patience for a LTTE battle with your guy, why not ask him/her for a specific number, since he/she made the claim, and work from there?

13. They swept the Dems out of the state house
The head tebagger is now a state rep in JoCo.

Yuck. Sorry about your SIL. I'm thinking the teabaggers in JoCo may have an awakening when the excellent schools start to fail. And they will with reduced funding.
