Repubs have no plans to do anything... |
|
...except strut around and crow like bantam roosters. They will criticize and blame everyone else for the problems and offer unrealistic solutions for consumption by their illiterate tea party followers.
But, in the end, they will accomplish nothing except more destruction. It was a sad and tragic day when the people voted them into the majority in the House. They do not look for solutions. They look for ways to destroy government. That is their calling card.
So, now, we will all have to suffer the consequences of the last election as these lunatics rant and rave about the evils all around them. They will accomplish nothing. Nil. I feel sorry for the poorest people in our country. It is not going to be an easy time.

20. I forgot to state my reason for the prediction. |

They will realize that he is a willing partner in their greedy quest for more monetary advantages for the wealthy.
Re: Your list does include some of the decision makers. But, behind the scenes, big money cares only about making money and if they think Obama will corporate, they will shield him just as they did in the days following the great "tax compromise giveaway to the rich".
If he continues this path of compromise, the Republicans might not be so adamant about kicking him out of office.
I could be wrong. Time will tell.

15. Not with the media we have. Until the Corporate Media is completely |
|
rejected it won't happen. I see no sign of it being rejected now, since they seem to be serving the people what they want. Even if what the people want is actually what is doing them harm.
The Citizens United decision has locked in what we have for probably the next 30 years. Talk about depressing.

19. Within a week after Howard Dean said in a campaign speech |
|
that if elected President, he was going to try to do something about the Corporate political influence in the media, he found himself out of the running due to a torrent of bad publicity about the so-called "Dean scream".
As the "scream" was shown on the news 100's of times per day, Dean appeared to be screaming for no apparent reason that they were going to win in various cities. There were almost no other sounds on the tape. However, the truth was that there were 100's of people at the pep rally who were very boisterous. Dean was speaking at an appropriate level under those circumstances. But, his mike was a short range type, designed to pick up only his voice.
Later some of the networks admitted that Dean's presentation had been unrealistic.
My theory is that the media decided to "out" him as soon as he said that he intended to regulate them if elected.

23. I never cease to be amazed at how much of a sort of reverse Universe we are in - |
|
these people get used and kicked in the face all of the time and they go back and vote again for the Republicans. What is it they don't get ... can they really be that F'en stupid. I'm starting to think they really want a third world country. I don't think we are perfect, but IMO the D's are sure a lot better for most people than the R's.
I'm in the middle of watching Harlan County, USA and what keeps coming to my mind is I don't see any sticking up for their rights today. Instead, they do the bidding of the greedy while somehow thinking they are standing up for rights. And I keep reaching the same conclusion as you, "We seem to be living in some weird sort of reverse Universe."
It's like a perpetual Twilight Zone episode, and I keep wondering when Americans are going to wake up to what is going on. I'm starting to lose faith too, I'm on a perpetual roller coaster just hoping the American voters will wise up. Each election for me is another WTF. Here, they have voted in some of the worst critters known to mankind. These people have no interest whatsoever in helping most people. They have voted against every initiative that would help people, yet they keep voting them in ... the stupid here is incredible.

Just because they disagree with Obama and the Democrats does not give them carte blanche to obstruct everything. Especially since we have tried it their way for the last ten years and beyond. It didn't work. It doesn' work. Either work to solve the dire situation we are in or get out of the way.

14. They'll have a lot of help from our side of the aisle, too, sad to say |
|
For those of us with memories longer than the last news cycle, you may remember all the squawking and caterwauling the Republicans did from 2001 to 2006. The Democrats and folks like us kept noticing that everything King Merdas, George W. Bush, touched turned to shit. By noticing these failures, Republicans continually yammered that we were "rooting for America to fail." As usual, Republicans blamed the opposition for doing what they themselves were doing or would be doing. And sure enough, just a few years later, they're counting on taking advantage of the collapse of the country to pave the way for their electoral success.
The depressing thing will be to see just how many Democrats join the Republicans in greasing our country's skids.
