The event at St. Paul’s Landmark Center starts at noon with music provided by the Minnesota National Guard 34th Red Bull Infantry Division Band and the MacPhail Community Youth Choir.

Vice President Walter Mondale serve as Master of Ceremonies and deliver opening remarks. After the invocation and national anthem State Supreme Court Justice Lori Skjerven Gildea will swear in the Minnesota Attorney General. Justice Paul Anderson will swear in State Auditor Rebecca Otto followed by Justice Gildea swearing in Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. All three officers are DFL and were first elected to their offices in 2006.

After the singing of “Hail Minnesota” Judge Donovan W. Frank will swear-in Yvonne Prettner Solon as Lt. Governor and Justice Gildea will administer the oath of office to Governor Mark Dayton.

Governor Dayton will then deliver his inaugural address followed by closing remarks from Vice President Mondale.

We end by singing the Minnesota Rouser. If you don’t know the words, you’ve obviously not been to a University of Minnesota sporting event. But don’t feel left out, they’re printed in the inaugural program.
