Chief Justice John Roberts to swear in John Boehner aides - ( WTF? )
In another statement of the new House Republican majority’s commitment to the Constitution, aides to incoming Speaker John Boehner plan to take their oath of office Tuesday morning—a day before the same oath is administered to the 435 House members of the new Congress.

At Boehner’s request, Chief Justice John Roberts will preside over the staff ceremony, which may be a first in Congressional history. Aides in Boehner’s Washington and district offices are expected to take the oath in the Capitol in a private, low-key event with no press coverage, a Boehner aide said.

4. Exactly how is this a statement of "commitment to the Constitution"?
Where in the Constitution does it say that oaths of office must be administered by the Chief Justice?

I don't get it.

15. I think this is giving them wiggle room to lie and follow an agenda
which is not in line with what the Constitution intended.

18. People who want to put up an appearance of being or doing
something they aren't tend to overdo it.

Seems to me the way to follow the Constitution would be to, you know, follow it. Instead the Repugs are doing a lot grandstanding, waving the flag around, etc. to try to show how much they love the Constiution - except that in practice, you know they don't give a damn about it. So now they have to work to create the illusion.

16. Now I'm beginning to think that Roberts did that on purpose.
They are seriously looking for loopholes to get around following our laws. I say they shouldn't be seated until Biden swears them in.

10. Boehner has already made it known that he doesn't
know the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

11. Repukes taking oaths doesn't mean much to me. Gawd Almighty could
be administering the oath, and they will be looking for ways to fuck the country over before their hands leave the Bible.

12. LOL, "no press coverage" of the event except the press coverage
that Roberts will swear them in which is a break from tradition. I doubt that the swearing in of the speaker's staff was ever covered in any form in the past.
