John Lithgow Gives Newt Gingrich’s Press Release the Dramatic Reading It Deserves
Did you catch yesterday's ridiculous press release by Newt Gingrich's waning presidential campaign? Stephen Colbert wasn't prepared to give the statement a dramatic reading—"I don't think I've got it in me to convey the epic genius of this verbal spanking"—but luckily actor John Lithgow did have it in him, and on tonight's Report, he delivered.

'Acting'..... old SNL skits and Third Rock from the Sun star...... nails it again

2. Epic. I am stirred.
Maybe even a little shaken. Who knew Newt to be such a visionary for America, such a maverick. He and his team have raised the temperature on hot air... which is unfortunate considering the extent of BS that came with it.

I think we just saw the Gingrich team throw a Hail Mary! I'd say Lithgow intercepted quite nicely and ran it all the way back for a touchdown. Sweet.

3. Newt would have a hard time getting his dog to respect him this week.
I'd change my name if I were related to him.

7. thanks for the alternative link: Love that Dramatic pause
I was so reminded of the old SNL skits with John Lithgow and Jon Lovitz
on Master Thespian

You know when SNL was actually funny?

15. Squinty glares and nostrils flaring
The SNL with Lithgow on "Master Thespian" was the best of that series. I used to stay up that late!

9. Never has the pomposity of DraftDodger Newtie been so appropriately mocked
not that this will make any impression on him. The Newtie is way too pompous to allow that...
