1. A few problems...
Praseodymium is element 59
Op is not representaive of any known element
Erbium is element 68
Ty is not representaive of any known element
Of is not representaive of any known element
Thorium is element 90, not even a Lanthanoid
Ec is not representaive of any known element
Hi is not representaive of any known element
Neon is element 10, not even a Lanthanoid
Selenium is element 34, not even a Lanthanoid
Go is not representaive of any known element
Ve is not representaive of any known element
Radon is element 86, not even a Lanthanoid
Me is not representaive of any known element
Nt is not representaive of any known element

To summarize, of the 15 "representative" Lanthanoids series elements only 6 of them are real elements; four of which are not even lanthanoids and the remaining two of carry incorrect atomic numbers.

Humph... :yoiks:

6. I think this is meant satirically, not literally.
You'd have had a real problem with a Calif. Artist who represented "Basic Foods Groups" using Chemical Symbols. Things like "Ch" for Chocolate, and "PC" for potato chips. COmplete with "atomic" weight and number designations.

us corporations, could easily mine their own.

it's just cheaper to buy from chinese slave labor, is all.

so while it may be a "clever" toon, the commentary it offers is false & misleading.

which rather destroys the point.

13. They're called "rare earth elements" for a reason, but...
...that reason is, oddly enough, not their scarcity.
