I always feel stupid when I miss some profound bit in a cartoon or painting. Is it that people hate the New Year?
I would have written "it said becuase he expects more corporate takeover of the United States" or "it said because the GOP is taking the House" or something.
I don't get this one though.

Doom & Gloom, nuclear war, anarchy, food riots, double dip, stock market going to crash, hyper inflation, runs on the banks, etc.
I think (maybe wrong) it is a reflection on how many horrible predictions are made about 2011 before we even started 2011.
