Arkansas bird death talking point (a how to) from Rush Limbaugh - global warming
At lunch I switched over for literally 3 minutes and the lard ass was rambling all over the place. Before he took a dig at St.Louis Rams fans "eating crow" (he failed to get his dream job of NFL ownership because he is such a racist) he jokingly said that he heard that the massive bird death in Arkansas was because of GLOBAL WARMING.

He meant it as a joke. Satire. But his listeners (conservatives) simply don't register satire or irony.

The first thing I thought of was the manufacture of a lie starting with Rush a few years ago. When Sandy Berger (on Kerry's campaign staff) got caught taking documents out of the National Archives (I think it was) Rush said, "I hear that he had them hidden in his socks". By 3 o'clock that afternoon Major Garrett was reporting the socks story as the midday anchor. I don't remember if for some reason I was home that day or if we watched unfold here on DU. By that evening it was part of the the initial paragraph on Fox News that Britt Hume read and the rest of the MSM followed, as usual.

Bird death - global warming. Don't be surprised if you hear it in the next day or so on TV and then it becames a "fact" of this story.

1. I read an article today that said the birds panicked from fireworks.
Never heard of that one before.

6. I don't buy it. We'd have dead birds everywhere on July 5th if that was the case. - eom

2. Rush really should stand up when he does his show
As long as he keeps pulling things out of his ass, it would expedite the process, I should think.

3. Gulf Oil Spill
When I first heard of all the dead birds, and fish, my immediate thought was the Oil Spill. Could this be connected?

5. But some reports mentioned trauma to the birds.
I certainly don't believe everything I hear, but if the birds did have evidence of trauma, how could it be related to a toxin or the spill?

They only use the echo chamber when it suits their purpose
