NY 26: Green Party Candidate Infiltrates GOP Campaign Phone Bank
"This was a fairly common exchange. I spent about three hours volunteering at Jane Corwin HQ, phoning potential voters, under the alias Steve Smith–an underemployed pet psychic and WNY repat most recently from Oakland, CA."

"I actually spoke with roughly 100 people, and the majority of them were extremely upset with the harassment by phone. Unless they immediately relented and said they were voting for Jane, their name went back into the system, and we’d call them until their spirits were thoroughly crushed. It’s an odd campaigning strategy — one that is no doubt backfiring."

5. Well, in this case, one not ours did it to one of theirs.
Not nice no matter who did it.

6. I'm not sure he did anything illegal
Aside from using a pseudonym, it looks like he followed the standard campaign scripts and talking points while making the calls, all in the presence of real campaign workers, then wrote about it. Of course the Corwin campaign will scream about it - they've already gotten a pre-emptive impoundment of the voting machines.

BTW, this is the same guy who called the governor of Wisconsin claiming to be one of the Koch brothers.

7. That's what a liberal did. Look for a conservative to sign on to a phone
bank in revenge and follow a fake script. Ever since Dick Tuck made Nixon his personal target, the pattern has been liberal joke followed by conservative crime.

4. I guess I should be upset about stuff like this
but - my bad - I'm laughing. This is the same guy that punked Gov. Walker in Wisconsin, leading him to think he was speaking with a Koch brother. I didn't get a call from "Steve", but I got enough other annoying calls for her I think I would have enjoyed one from him. LOL.
