but i was actually thinking about that yesterday. considering how many men in government appear to have questionable judgment and self-control in that respect perhaps it is one of the reasons they go into that line of work.

...that makes a lot of them narcissists. Their campaigns are all about them, people sending money and working for them for doing practically nothing. It conditions their brains through external stimuli. They start feeling bigger than they are. Ten foot tall and bulletproof. As a U.S. congressperson, they feel powerful. Lobbyists shower them with perks. I would imagine it would do the same to 70-80% of the people were they to be elected to office. They get in, most with all the best intentions, then learn that it's all a game, and if you don't play the game, you won't be there long.
That's my take on it anyway.
