was passed in 2004, by Republicans with no Democrat support of which it would not have received any how many people here would have been for it?
It's a simple question for those who think that "Obama bashers" are here just to pick on poor little Obama. How many of you honestly would have supported this bill had it come out of Bush's administration?

1. None? C'mon with all the flak we "whiners" are getting |
|
I was expecting an avalanche of people telling me how great this bill is and how they would have supported it when Republicans tried to pass it.

Republicans are'nt going to commit political suicide either.
And the tax breaks well they passed them for the middle class in the first place. why wouldn't they again? It's all about giving as much as possible to the corporations and the wealthy while balancing it with a few scraps for the middle class and poor.
Wow look at that I just described the bill to a "T".
edit: Republicans also may have tried the "rebate" trick again. Can't tell you how many stupid people I met who voted for Bush in 2004 because "he gave me money".

4. Yeah, that's why we had to wait 6 weeks for the guy from |
|
West Virginia to be seated to break the GOP filibuster last time. I remember; I had no money coming in for all those weeks.

5. The GOP would have taken their most left leaning |
|
candidates and had them vote for, just enough to make the bill pass so they could keep whining about it while making sure their constituents didn't feel the heat. Unless of course they are 99'ers, then it's just a plain fuck you you lazy bums.
This bill sucks. Period. Unemployment will get worse, the deficit will get worse, SS will be threatened and the Republicans will start stripping the rest of the social programs while the Democrats sit back and watch.

7. Well we'll never know will we. |

Although a number of Republicans have admitted that they would not have let the UI expire. And you never answered my original question, if this was a Republican bill would you support it? I'm just trying to see if people actually believe this is a good thing or if they are just whistling past the graveyard.
