Why was STEPHANOPOULIS doing on Faux? & who buys CHRISTIE as family-First?!1

I had to look twice when O'LOOFAH previewed who his guest commentators would be for analysis of the Rethug non-debate from last night: COULTERgeist, check. KRAUTHAMMER, the bitter man, check. COLMES & his wingnut sister-in-law, check. And George STEPHANOPOULIS --------------- wait, what?!1

So first, O'LOOFAH dictated his own analysis in a monolog, leaving nothing for anybody to say for themselves. Then the first guest was Georgie, who really showed his goodhearted naivete, appearing there with his childlike trust and smile, like he really really believed he would get a fair shake, like Georgie's good will would make the walls of Jericho come tumbling down. So Georgie started in with his earnestness, graciously giving O'LOOFAH credit on the points O'LOOFAH had greedily gobbled up first, but then adding one little something of his own as an original insight, which is supposedly why GUESTS are supposed to be asked to be guests.

So O'LOOFAH, popping his buttons either from gorging on falafels or from dragging somebody from his hated networks onto his stooge of a circus, visibly pleasured himself in shooting down poor Georgie for every little thing. After the first minute, Georgie dropped his smile and got this defeated look on his face, like his naive idealism was shattered once again. O'LOOFAH even hammered the stake to the end, worming his way to strip Georgie of journalistic integrity and SMEAR MERCHANTing him as a political hack, twisting to find a way to say, "You're a Democratic (big D) guy, a Democratic kind of a guy (that is, NOT objective), or at least you were until you became media?" (Things I'm putting in parentheses are MY words/interpretations.)

Georgie had most of his three minutes with a deadened, deflated, defeated look on his face. At the end, O'LOOFAH the cat playing with a mouse, or like a sadistic prison guard torturing an inmate, tossed him a victory tidbit, joking about Georgie's having to leave because he has to get up at 3 A.M., and Georgie got his trusting smile back.


O'LOOFAH was flying high the whole hour, slicing and dicing all of his guests. Since he has the chip on his shoulder about having been unappreciated by the networks, how Bob SCHIEFFER big-footed him on a story, how he hates NBC for (he claims: ) being a Liberal outlet, his bloodthirsty ego just bursts with a glutton's satiety. The nuns must cackle themselves in satisfaction when they see their product.



************Then Chris CHRISTIE being featured by the Brit who overthrew Larry KING. I thought the Brit was going to be tough and mean and be the Anti-Larry-SOFT. It was a fawning thing. One of the early segments, given CHRISTIE's mayhem on teachers and public servants and such, was in the setting of a classroom with a Glen BecKKK blackboard in the background. The Brit had just asked about the helicopter and CRISTIE was in the mode of "I'm a father first, I had governor duties that strained my schedule...blah". They went on to feature the wife and the kids, including the 17 yr old helicopter kid. The message was, this is one happy perfect real family and they all agree this is not the time to run for prez and it's all very very real.

The big gap of things-that-don't-add-up for me is: This guy pursues policies that hurt people under his thrall, everything from their individual benefits and income to the general good (derailing public project funds from the Feds). I just don't buy that he is this goodness of a being. He claimed he wouldn't confess junk to the Brit, only to his wife and a priest but that one thing he confesses to feel guilt about is: ta-daaaa, HIS WEIGHT. Actually, I was thinking about that earlier, if he wanted to show how much his family is FIRST why choose a helicopter as a way to prove it instead of prolonging his presence in their lives through healthcare?!1

My only point is that this wingnut is majorly disturbing to me as a danger.
