Because I did vote for a Republican once, and it wasn't Reagan.

3. There has never been a Republican who I could possibly have voted for |
|
Under any circumstances. Besides, Reagan was so obviously a token spokesperson, hired to play the President on TV.
In 1980 I still had not forgiven Gerald Ford for pardoning Nixon. Hell, I STILL have not done so!

7. Yeah, me too. I was just trying to get a handle on |
|
how many DUers are/were/would have been "Reagan Democrats". I probably should have given a little more thought to the poll questions.

5. I was the only one in my family |

who never voted for President Ronnie. The last Republican I voted for was Chuck Percy for Senate in Illinois. By today's Republican standards Percy would be considered a left wing extremist.

6. When Reagan won I felt a profound chill |
|
I felt the same thing the first time I saw Bush strut around with his entourage and the media giddily embracing him.

Reagan's record as CA governor was so filled with idiocy and right wing rhetoric of the most chilling kind that anyone who voted for him by the time he hit national campaigns had to know exactly what they were voting for.

10. I agree. But apparently there were a lot of "Reagan Democrats" |
|
I put up another poll because this one was so flawed. I apologize.
