As Riots Continue, Tunisian Bloggers & Rapper Arrested (& Anonymous Has Joined The Cyberwar)
Edited on Fri Jan-07-11 12:58 PM by Turborama

p2pnet view P2P | Freedom:- “Yesterday was a horrible day for Tunisian youth, communities of bloggers, and Tweeples facebookers and for the community of Tunisian artists”, posts A Tunisian Girl on her blog.

“From morning we learned of the arrest at 6 30 am blogger Kaloutcha Hamadi was arrested at his home by plainclothes police. They also searched his computer.”

She goes on (Google translation, original at the foot of this story) >>>

Subsequently we have sadly learned the arrest of rapper Hamada Ben Amor known as El General, at his home in Sfax.

But as a misfortune never comes alone, the afternoon close friends of bloggers and activists Amamou Slim and Aziz Amami announced that they have lost any connection with them. This morning we are still without news of Slim and Aziz.

The student Wael Naour was also arrested yesterday in Sousse following the protest actions held in the Faculty of Arts.

I got really sick at heart, seeing young people who are arrested just for expressing their opinions. It is unfortunate to see these arrests take place without any respect for the law …

It is in this way that the Tunisian youth is rewarded in the year World Youth whose initiative was launched in Tunisia.

‘President, your people are dead’

More and more people in Tunisia are taking to the net to express their outrage at the way authorities are trampling human rights, there.

1. Those poor people. What is it with this world that governments
are so afraid of freedom of speech?

Do you know anything about this government, Turborama? I am not familiar with the political situation there, so thank you for the link. I will research it.

Good for Anonymous. I am hoping they will get involved in helping Iceland's PM who is being harassed by this government merely because she and her country support Wikileaks. I hope they organize a huge support group on Twitter for her and Wikileaks.
