Think of an idea for a great textbook that could be produced for a mere ten million dollars
Would it be too expensive to be feasible? Note: I'm not including marketing costs. I'm including just the costs for producing the textbook itself.

I imagine that it might be too expensive if the textbook will be used only by grad students, but what if the textbook will be used by elementary students? There's a large population of elementary students, and perhaps the textbook could be used for several years.

Eighty million dollars were spent to produce a movie* about Martian invaders whose brains explode when they hear country music. Perhaps that niche is more than eight times as important as any one elementary school subject? Alternatively, perhaps people would be willing to spend more for education, but it requires a strategy that has not yet been invented. After all, at one time there were no movies. The technology and the business model had to be invented.

* The movie I have in mind is "Mars Attacks!"
