Bird and fish die-offs from yesteryear: 20 reports from between 1882 and 2007
Using the amazing tool known as Google News Archives, I did a little research on mass deaths of birds and fish in days gone by.
Sometimes the causes were known or suspected, other times it was a mystery. I compiled a list of 20 such stories from between 1882 and 2007, with links to the original newspaper image. It's rather interesting, if I do say so myself.

2. The current "epidemic" is likely a "Media Contagion" like shark attacks and windshield pitting.

3. Sound a lot more accurate.
Climate change is real but blaming everything possible occurence on it gives the subject a credibility problem.
