KS physicians file lawsuit to stop abortion clinic restrictions
There are only three abortion clinics in Kansas, all in the KC area. New regulations designed to force them out of business take effect on July 1. One clinic has already been told it doesn't meet the licensing regs. The third clinic is the Planned Parenthood clinic which we thought would stay open but earlier today, the state health dept held a press conference to announce all three clinics would close. But that article has been scrubbed and replaced with this one.

A father-daughter physician team is going to court to stop the state from imposing new rules that could potentially leave the state abortion free by the end of the week.

Herbert Hodes and his daughter, Traci Nauser, filed a lawsuit in federal court asking a judge to stop the new licensing requirements from going into effect on July 1.

Hodes and Nauser both run an Overland Park obstetrics and gynecological clinic that also provides abortion services. It is one of three abortion clinics in the state that face the prospect of not getting a license by the time the new regulations start on Friday.

Hodes and Nauser run the Center for Women’s Health, which was scheduled to be inspected Wednesday. The clinic canceled the inspection thinking it wouldn’t be approved for a license anyway.

This is the only source I could find reporting all three clinics would be closing:

ALL THREE OF KANSAS’ ABORTION CLINICS MAY SOON CLOSE | “Kansas health regulators said today that the abortion clinics they’ve inspected so far have failed to meet the requirements to get a license under a law that takes effect Friday,” the Kansas City Star reports, suggesting that all three of the state’s abortion clinics may soon shut down. The licensing regulations — part of a new measure establishing overly rigorous standards abortion providers must meet in order to continue operating — are part of a Republican effort to effectively eliminate abortions in the state. Earlier this week, one clinic announced that it had failed to meet the licensing requirements and would be closing its doors.

1. Hodes and Nauser are brave souls and are to be commended for this.
I hope they stay safe but fear they will now be targets for the prolife extremists.

2. Do the forced birthers want dead women?
Because that's what they're gonna get if they eliminate access to abortion even further.

3. I doubt they care
They're doing what they think Jesus wants them to do.
