1. I posted this because I'm sick and tired of people who "can't be bothered".
People who think they're so high above others that they should somehow be protected from normal cycles of life. People who forget that they were once children and probably acted out. They're probably the SAME people who try and pass my truck when I turn my turn signals on. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll probably pull my tandems over one of their cars sooner or later. My turn signals aren't requests for permission, and that's something those people don't get.

I hope there IS an airline that offers flights denying seats to children so that their patrons are protected from unwanted intrusions to their oh-so-special lives. I'll make sure my Tourette's friends and I fly on those flights.

If crying bothers those people, I can't wait til a good friend of mine goes "ssss ssss uh uh oh FUCK FUCK!" every three minutes or so.

2. I once spent three hours on the tarmack with many unhappy babies.
And then there was the flight over the Atlantic with them.

Horrible as it was, it still didn't bother me as much as being surrounded during rush hour by 13 count 'em 13 idiots having long detailed conversations on their cell phones.

5. Actually, I don't think there's anything at all admirable

about being able to ignore the sound of a crying baby.

As humans, we are programmed to respond in a very visceral way to that sound...which is, after all, a sound of distress.

Even the supposedly "lowly and savage" animals get disturbed by distress sounds. Or, at the very least, take notice of them.

I hope I never get so "mature" that the sound of another living creature in distress causes me to go "Ho hum" and fall asleep in blissful ignorance.

3. Babies don't bother me. Kids don't bother me. People with Tourette's don't bother me.
I DO, however, think that passengers should be forbidden from eating bean burritos within four hours of their departure time.

4. I now wear ear plugs and dark sunglasses on planes. I'm happier with the world that way.
