come from my Mom's place where we had been watching the news. My Mom who's in her 80s and doesn't follow politics said "the way things are today he has probably been hypnotized in some way." I said I didn't hypnotized was the right word. Somewhat later CNN showed his writing on facebook about mind control. Now your comment.

I was in a relationship once where I knew I was being played by someone extremely manipulative. I really didn't understand what was happening till I came across William Sargent's classic book on mind control. It floored me. Reading it made me realize at once that the person I loved was seriously messing with my head using sophistated pyschological techiques, that the situation I was in was dangerous. I have since learned that I was involved with someone who was a borderline sociopath and that sociopaths are masters at mind control.

I mention this because IMO the assassin who has a history of pyschological issues is the kind of person extremely susceptible to comments teabaggers/palin/hate radio have been drumming into people's head. His writing about mind control indicates he had some awareness of what was happening however it is clear he didn't have either the will or the way to extricate himself from their influence.

one of my rules. I'm going to mention Hitler. Yes, I'm going to point out that I do not think there is any evidence that Hitler ever personally killed anyone. Yet, his words triggered the deaths of millions. Now perhaps my comparison is a bit extreme but my point is words do have power.

Words and images spur people to action, some take it to the extreme. High profile people getting airtime talking about 2nd Amenment remedies for things they don't agree with can validate an unstable person's motivation to do just that.
