Does The New Austerity Mean No More New Wars? |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-06-11 08:07 PM by Yavin4
I suspect that the alarm that David Frum and David Brooks are sounding against their fellow Republicans is motivated by their worry that the new austerity that the Republicans are pushing for also means no more wars in the Middle East.
For example, how can President Romney sell a war in Iran in the austerity era? We simply won't be able to afford it. Especially since Republicans are forever bound to never raising taxes ever again.

It is a fact that World War II ended the Great Depression. The bankers will soon make the same gamble again.

4. Maybe. Even Joe sixpack is starting to connect the dots that wars expensive and he's out of work. |
|
And, that his kid with no job is joining up to make a living as cannon-fodder in lost wars.
