End the fucking wars. Tax the hell out of the multi-millionaires, billionaires
For the life of me, I cannot see what is so damned hard to fathom about this.

END THE WARS
We don't need to have our military's nose in every corner of the world. End all these damned wars, and let's take a hard look at the rest of the troops that we have stationed around the world. I might be willing to concede that we should leave some troops in South Korea to guard against possible North Korean action (even that's a stretch, SK can take care of themselves), but I fail to see why we need to have troops stationed in Germany, Japan, and elsewhere around the globe.

RAISE TAXES ON THE WEALTHIEST OF THE WEALTHY
Nobody's saying that we need to tax small business owners out of existence. But please, someone tell me why we shouldn't be going after multi-millionaires and billionaires. Nowadays, we hear so much about "giving back". Well guess what. Your country is in dire straits now. Time to give some of that $$$ back. Besides, some of this country's best economic years came during the 1950s, when we had some of our highest tax rates for the wealthy.

Why is this so goddamned hard to figure out?

But then again, i thought prosecuting Bush/cheney was pretty black/white too...

Had a friend try to explain that we were involved in so many things because of so many other reasons...okay fine, but why can't the world be fixed in a matter of common sense? right?

He said we are involved in the oil nations all over because if we had $10 gas the recession/depression would be a thousand times worse. i said that peak oil is bringing us the same reality, and if that doesn't nail us, climate change WILL.
He said Obama is trying to help ease us through these tough times more gently, I said it certainly didn't "feel" like I was being kissed while being ...well, you know...

I am surviving, daily, weekly, etc... on what I can do to make a few extra bucks and with the help of social services. otherwise we'd be homeless, or worse...living with my parents.. :eeek:
There are people out there with fewer options than me and my kids, and they are holding on by thinner threads than I.

I was full of joy and hope when he was elected, and now my resolve and spark is fading fast...
Beginning to think in terms of the 'end of the house of cards' that we consider to be "normal" life...it is over and it's not going to get better...meet the new boss, same as the old boss, etc...
May as well just mind my own garden and take care of my own tribe - feels like the frontier all over again...
