I'm Staying Loyal to Obama on This One
I'm not going to panic because it looks like Obama's selling out our old people. This man is a shrewd politician, and he may be setting the Republicans up for a trap. I think he deserves some slack. He's doing something counterintuitive the way experienced outfielders play The Wall at Fenway Park. We'll see if that's what he's up to.

Fielding at Fenway is counter-intuitive

2. loyalty to a politician....whatever floats your boat...
just don't expect it to be returned in kind, because they're only 'loyal' to whomever is paying them the most.

That worked out well. For billionaires.

4. Obama created the catfood commission.
Obama appointed two anti-New Deal zealots to head it up. This was hardly an accident. Social security and medicare can easily be preserved by increasing the dedicated tax but instead Obama chose to reduce FICA contributions.

Far from being a victim in this Obama is central participant in the attack on the social safety net. This will end Obama's presidency. But I do not think it matters to him in the least.

12. Why?
Would you be loyal to a Republican who had carried out the same policies?

Do you agree with Obama's strategy?

13. Baloney. There is no underlying, secret motive.
During the healthcare debate we all thought, at the end, there would be a slick move by Obama to get the public option incuded. Ha! Same this time. He's singing kumbayah again.

He's maneuvered himself into a position from which he can make cuts to Social Security and Medicare and still run as 'the guy on the left'.

25. Nope, no slack. Slack is not for someone who has the welfare of
more than 300 million people at the tip of his pen; who has the ability to send children, cousins, parents, uncles, etc to some other country to get blown to bits; who has at his beck and call the mechanisms to blow countries and inhabitants to smithereens.

No. Slack should only be found in the dictionary somewhere between 'shit' and 'syphillis', or in the rope tying your boat to the dock when the tide comes in - not in the office of the President.

27. He may play the trump card and save everything.
14th Amendment.

After he has given Republicans plenty of time to expose themselves as the reckless sociopaths they are.
