Senator Sheldon Whitehouse puts Obama on notice: DON'T BET ON IT
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse puts Obama on notice:

“Depending on what they decide to recommend, they may not have Democrats,” Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a Rhode Island Democrat, said in an interview. “I think it is a risky thing for the White House to basically take the bet that we can be presented with something at the last minute and we will go for it.”

2. Good, it's about time if the president thinks he is just going to cater to the GOP
to get votes he has another thing coming. Dems have already proposed big cuts. What this president apparently doesn't seem to understand is that if he really wants to eliminate the deficit he needs to put people back to work. That is how Bill Clinton did it. More people working the more people paying taxes. Now he's going after SS and who knows what else! I've practically given up on Obama. He seems to stand for absolutely nothing and believe in nothing. I think I made a huge mistake in 2008 by supporting him. I can't see how Hillary would have been worse than this.

3. It has worked for them every time so far...
Obama is actually very reliable.. Whatever Republicans want they get. Whatever Democrats want they get told to shut up and go along...Remember Democrats have no where else to go...Do you want the boogy man to be our next President?

5. One would think, as addicted to 'poll approval numbers' ...
... as some of the flunkies seem to be, they'd be jumping up and down waving it in POTUS' face that close to 80% of average folks do NOT want Medicare and Social Security fucked with, and think that taxes SHOULD be raised on the brazillionaires. But for some odd reason, the only stats they want to pay attention to are the ones that say "65% {or whatver % it is this week} of Dems like POTUS".

7. I'm glad Whitehouse is standing up to the White House. I'll remember it in 2016.
Until January 2017, the Presidency will be held by someone willing to respond to the deficit hysteria by selling out the bottom 90% of the country.

I hope that corporatist President is Obama, because a Republican corporatist would leave even more of a mess for a Democrat to clean up.
