DEMs need to "Wash their Hands of Social Security Cuts"
this issue is going to drive people to the streets and spark decades of resentment.

Even a Disproportionate high percentage of the Tea Party depend on social security and medicaid to get by and any cuts would be intolerable to them. The Party - including the President need to cry foul - draw the "Line in the Sand" and hunker down for the 14th Amendment challenge to the Debt Ceiling

6. debunked?
". . . work with both parties to do so in a balanced way that preserves the promise of the program and doesn't slash benefits".

How does that debunk the statement that SS changes are on the table?

14. Too unpopular of a position for House and Senate
I am worried more about the "Hurry Up and Vote" possibility where the bill is presented at the last minute before the Aug 2 deadline.

But what I see now are a series of "Trail Balloons" being floated to test the waters of the American Public

17. Barak can play with Fire - House and Senate DEMs won't
he more then likely will receive the most push back from his own party if he even thinks of allowing the "Corp RATpubliCONs to start dismantling Social Security and Medicaid

18. Of course, 'reducing' or 'trimming' or 're-calculating' benefits is not
'slashing' benefits.

Weasel words.

7. Funny, Dick Durbin didn't counterdict it. He said they are looking at removing cost of living to
"strengthen" social security
