Not one goddamned word is being spoken in negotiations about WAR SPENDING. |

I hear the thugs whining and whining about spending but they NEVER mention war spending. NOT ONCE!
Edited to change "here" to "hear"...

2. Some politicians make CHOICES to put your future on the table but keep the wars off it. |

If it's guns or butter- butter goes. Your butter, anyway.

3. This is THE point that has been pissing me off to no end. |

We've got all the money in the world to deconstruct and destroy, but not a nickel to construct and create. We are a morally and ethically bankrupt society.

4. Yeah, what's up with that? |

We are so deep into war that it seems impossible to get out. But civilians are dying with us there, and they'll die when we leave. Wouldn't it be best to leave and stop spending billions on a futile effort to stop the unstoppable?

media is to "preserve our freedom." Thus, questioning the necessity of billions spent on wars is to question the very essence of our supposed "liberty" and to have less than the required amount of "patriotism." At every sporting event I've been to recently members of the military are trotted out for a heroes welcome. Americans are conditioned to be very militaristic and bombs and bullets are never "off the table."

Obama has committed to cutting $400 billion in planned new military spending OVER THE NEXT 12 YEARS!
To put this in perspective, the U.S has spent $3.7 TRILLION since 2001 on two unnecessary and pointless wars.
Any politician who speaks of the debt, the deficit, and spending cuts who does not have the word "wars" in their text is a fraud.

10. If we are in a war, we need to fund it fully |
|
But we don't need to be in a war. I'm not a fan of ever cutting military spending while we have men and women fighting. Their lives depend on the amount of equipment, training, etc that our government provides to them.
The best solution to cutting military spending is to stop fighting wars. Once we do that, then we can make the big cuts and structural changes to our military.
