Rupert Murdoch worked and struggled to buy his first newspaper News of the World
Edited on Thu Jul-07-11 01:47 PM by Snoutport
He was a younger Rupert Murdoch...working hard to buy his first newspaper The News of the World. Throughout his entire career NOTW was his baby. His favorite. He made it into a muck-raking pit of hell but he loved it.

Today, because of the unethical actions of News Corp, Rupert Murdoch's News of the World has been shuttered. Sunday will be its last paper after almost 150 years. Over 2 million people a week read NOTW. It was Britain's largest paper and News International's most profitable paper. It was the cherry on Rupert's cupcake.

And now it is dead. Dead because of phone hacking, email hacking and unethical behavior.

I think we are about to see so much garbage and trash from this investigation that it will set the standard for low down dirty rotten despicable behavior. So rotten that Rupert Murdoch was willing to kill his baby in the hopes that it will quiet the story.

I hope now you understand why I have so doggedly followed this story. FOX News is run by the same people who used to run Murdoch's British papers. If these employees, Roger Ailes to be specific, brought those same practices to the United States to their new jobs, then we are pretty close to something I have dreamed of... FOX News being shuttered for breaches of ethical standards at such a low down dirty rotten despicable level that even the tighty righties will not be able to stomach it.

Every Sunday millions of Brits would curl up with a cup of tea and read The News of the World. They were slowly brainwashed by its steady drip, drip, drip of stories that put liberals in a bad light, that attacked education and government, and always in a way that pushed Rupert Murdoch's view on society. This Sunday those millions will wake up, get their tea and then they will begin experiencing the world without Rupert Murdoch whispering hate words in their ears.

Rupert Murdoch, FOX News and the News of the World. May they all three have the same fate...shunned from society, closed down and remembered as the lowest of the low.

1. Close down Fox "News". It's bad for our health.

8. Glad to see that he hasn't
aged well. And Karma seems to have bitten him in the ass...literally.

Hope the apple falls far from the tree when it comes to the 2 sons....I remember a long time ago there was friction between one of them and papa.

And he is NOT self-made....another one born with the silver spoon up his ass.

3. If that was his baby then both him and/or his closest advisers knew what the fuck was going on. I'm
talking about the bribes and the payoffs. That money came from somewhere.

6. Closed, my ass. He's already registered the name "The Sun on Sunday"
This is a rebranding PR stunt.

They fired the rank and file to save the guilty executives.

7. Modus operandi
How is it certain that FOX News didn't hack phones? Or The Times of London? Or the New York Post?

Murdoch should be investigated by Congress.
