Mayhem at White House as newly-freed Candidate Obama lays siege against Robot Obama

Washington, DC - Fear and confusion reigned this afternoon after a man purporting to be Candidate Obama defeated Capitol Police around the White House and entered it around 1:00 pm today in Washington. Fleeing congressmen and aids reported that Candidate Obama had already pulled off one of Robot Obama's life-like metal arms and was locked in mortal combat with the android somewhere between the Roosevelt Room and the Oval Office.

Harlan Weaver, Chief of Capitol Police, described the melee. "The human Obama, Candidate Obama, he was dressed in combat fatigues. I swear it looked like he'd used his own blood to make some kind of war paint design on his face. He was absolutely super-human, tearing one of Robot Obama's technicians apart like a loaf of fresh bread then shook the body over his head like a ragdoll. It was the most frightening act of revenge I'd ever seen. When he pulled one of Robot Obama's arms off, sparks started shooting everywhere and I gave the order to evacuate."

(FBI) Special Agent Green also said that found along with the bodies in the Maryland home was a survivor who admitted to being one of the President's captors. "He's slipping in and out of a coma right now but he said that the President, who had been abducted and replaced with a robot about a year after his election, overheard that Social Security cuts were being considered by the White House. At that point, Candidate Obama apparently executed some extreme feat of strength due to his rage, breaking free of his bonds and obliterating his captors before storming off."

--SNIP--

But not everyone is pleased at Candidate Obama's return. The president of "Third Way", a conservative Democratic political group, issued the following statement which read, in part "...There is still no proof that Americans did not elect Robot Obama. With debt crisis talks looming on the horizon, it is imperative that President RoBama not be distracted from jointly working on re-tooling Social Security with the Republicans in the House and Senate. We can also assure you that RoBama has a strong nuclear powerplant which will allow him to work around to clock to help do what's right for America."

2. It WOULD, heh heh. At this point I think that Candidate Obama vs Robot Obama would be...
...less surreal than the situation we currently have going on. As a person who vigorously defended and championed Candidate Obama, it is far easier for me to believe he's simply been replaced with a "Third Way"-controlled robot replica.

3. The difference between robot Obama and candidate Obama is us.
Our willingness to project our expectations into the blanks in his resume, his speeches and his record is what got him elected.

Obama is like art. He appears different to everyone until you realize that he's just a can of soup.

4. I can see projecting on a work of art. But a work of art doesn't give months of speeches claiming..

...to be a firebrand Lefty Democrat only to be revealed later as some Third Way stooge. I...I guess no art does that, really. But I would agree that what's inside the can sure wasn't listed on the label.

5. Until we get campaign finance and electoral reform, it's ALL "just soup", but pretending
that soup is not nourishing or that we have amongst OURSELVES no carrots, nor potatoes, no onions, favorite herbs, or even a rutabga . . . NOTHING to add to the soup by means of our own activism, so the bowl should be up-ended on the floor in November is suicidally DELUSIONAL, especially for the vulnerable amongst us.

It IS possible, however, as DU member bobbolink used to say around here: intellectual and political elitists, "Left", Liberal, Progessive and otherwise, care way more about power acquisition and their pure ideas than they do about the poor and elderly.
