1. That is the line in the sand for many people.
However, I'm sure Moveon will be told that this is a 'retarded idea' before too long. This time I hope they do not back down.

4. It is for me. And I will become eligible for full Social Security in ... 2012.
And I just signed up for Medicare.

So, it's not just political, it's also personal.

36. Obama has already cut Social Security -- he cut the COLA's which keep it from becoming poverty wage
It wasn't W Bush who did that -- it was Obama --

The CPI has been gimmicked, as well -- and if Obama doesn't know that he

isn't fit to be president.

6. It's my line in the sand because it's dishonest and unnecessary
I already refuse to give to the DCCC, targeting my donations to pols who sound like they might be on my side (and Pelosi's getting some of my ill gotten cash this time).

I won't give one dime to Obama if he backs down on this. Since so much of his 2008 war chest was from small donors like me, he needs to think about this one long and hard.

I'm delighted the GOP has decided to close a few loopholes, don't get me wrong, although I strongly suspect they were targeted to wealthy individuals who have since died and whose heirs have better sense. However, the only thing that will work is rolling back Stupid's tax cuts, all of them, even the ones I got. That's shared sacrifice, right there, in a nutshell and nothing else will do.

9. So if what was posted from Daily Kos is true - that our SS would be affected by 13 cents
you still won't vote for Obama

EVEN if that 13 cent cut means we finally end those damn tax cuts to the rich?

23. explain how 13 cents somehow equals trillions.....
And also - explain how 13 cents strengthens social security - or even saves it.

Very fuzzy math which simply does not add up.

37. Granted DU'ers gave Obama $280,000 or more -- but corporate $$ is what he's after now ....
and it's been corporate $$ which has dictated his decision making --

20 years of Koch Bros/DLC infiltration and distortion of the party and

its one time values has been turned around now to make it the party of

Anti-New Deal and Anti-FDR corporate values!!

Pretty mild wouldn't you say - and completely toothless, seeing as how he's got the $$$ coming in from Wall St. and other enemies of the American people.

Dude digs a hole to bury the New Deal in it forever and all you can say is well I'm not giving him any more money? MoveOn.org should change its name to PissOnMyFaceAndTellMeItsRainingOn.org.

20. The Bush tax cuts have expired: these are BHO's tax cuts who reportedly is willing to cut social
security in the wake of those tax cuts. If so, this would suggest, imnsho, that BHO is further to the right, again imnsho, than any other president in the nation's history, bar none. Hopefully I'm wrong and that BHO will prove my thesis wholly fallacious by demonstrating that he is not blinded by the right or willing to cower to them and will not sign into law any legislation not progressive. :patriot:

47. The Patriot Act was the line for me, the bailout was rubbing my face in it... it's far too late now
Obama is being guided by the Project for a New American Century. Whether he knows he's being guided is another question, and one that I don't have important information about. But as far as large-scale policy accomplishments

He made Bush's wholesale violation of the Constitution permanent - NO indications of dismantling the terror state.
He handed America's wealth, or what was left of it, over to a pack of criminals, with no investigation or prosecution of significance.
He's putting all the balls in place for someone (not him, conveniently) to destroy the most successful pension program in America ever.

That's MY personal trifecta.

Aren't they his now? I mean how long are they going to be Bush's Tax cuts?

When President Obama is re-elected to a second term and he still doesn't repeal these tax cuts, then will we stop calling them "Bush" tax cuts?

Or because he started them they will be forever known as the Bush tax cuts?
